Just how far are Liverpool ahead (visualised)?

The 2019-20 Liverpool side is on course to be the greatest football team of all-time.

That sentence above is no exaggeration. Jürgen Klopp’s side have taken an incredible 73 of a possible 75 points though 25 Premier League games this season.

They have a 22-point lead over defending champions Manchester City and could have the title mathematically secured as early as Saturday 7 March 2020 – with 10 games to spare.

Their points tally is so amazing that they collected more points from their 12 away games (34) then the likes of Everton (33) and Arsenal (31) have taken from all 25 of their Premier League games to date.

Liverpool’s 39 points at home (from a maximum 39) is more than 16 Premier League teams have picked up home and away combined.

To visualise this lead that the Merseyside club have produced, the table below shows them versus the rest of Europe’s top five divisions, with each row of the spreadsheet representing a point.

Whilst it is worth noting that each Premier League side has played 25 games, teams in La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1 have played 22, and the Bundesliga is only 20 games into the season.

However, only 10 points split the top four in La Liga, five points between the top three in Italy, and there are just three points between Bayern Munich in first and Borussia Mönchengladbach in fourth. Paris Saint-Germain in France do have a 12-point lead in the uncompetitive Ligue 1.
